Wish on my star

I wouldn't change a thing about you
I wouldn't ask the green to be blue
I wouldn't ask the birds not to fly,
or change a thing in the sky, or turn hello to good-bye

I wouldn't ask the birds not to sing
I wouldn't ask the phone not to ring
I just couldn't ask the wind not to blow,
or a boat not to row, or a trio to go solo

You are amazing just as you are
You are a flower in the spring,
and you're the light each morning brings
And I adore you, just the way you are
You are not the star that I wish on
You are the wish on my star

新年快樂!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

I had a great time! Ate so much I'm stuffed!!! :D This is the lion dance performance at my cousin's house, they perform every year. That's my uncle.

This is the God of Fortune!! Everyone wanted to touch him. -_-U

And these are the lucky 4D numbers the lions gave. If you tilt the photo around you can see the Chinese characters. :P

A video, only 3 mins long cos my memory card is small, I'm totally getting a new one with bigger capacity.

It's not very interesting cos the interesting parts weren't inside!! The lions will actually go into the house (boring), but they'll eat mandarins and peel it inside, then they'll pretend to be sleepy and digesting the food. And when they're done they'll throw out the mandarin peels and lettuce (sheng cai=rising fortune?) which is really funny!

It's a happy Chinese New Year!!! I have class tomorrow and it's sad but who cares? :D

Sadness

Charity bear from my good friend, and yak-bone chopsticks from my other good friend (they don't fit into my chopstick cases, but she says the bone material helps replenish calcium, which is cool cos I'm supposed to be at a high risk for osteoporosis). I'm going to name the bear Scott! Cos my friend saw my textbook which I wrote "Scott" on cos that's the author, and she thought he was like my new boyfriend or something. Haha!!!

Ok, so it's week 3 at school and I'm already having the blues. My risk project is going nowhere (we don't talk about it), and there are 2 exchange students in my marketing group. I sure hope they're hardworking people and we can get along well, cos I'm really very worried about my grades this semester. My law tutor suxxors to the maxxors, my tax group is filled with smart and hardworking people and thus we have nothing in common to talk about (but it's bearable and they're nice), and my risk class is filled with annoying people who keep volunteering in class.

Help me!!! I'm praying to Kami-sama that I'll (at least) maintain my GPA this semester. I can't drop back into the abysmal depths of desperation!!! I can't!!!

Yay!

You know, I was in a super bad mood the past 2 days but now I'm fine again because out turns out that this guy in my hopeless risk module is a bona fide Mr Nice Guy who does all his readings and can prompt us for answers and his dad owns some company which we can use as a back-up plan for our project (my back-up failed, but I actually have another big and reliable back-up which I will only use when absolutely forced to), but I doubt we have to, because I believe he's a capable dude. Score!!! Praise the Lord!!!

Another reason for my happiness - I finally polished my baby!!! He's all shiny and glossy now - look at the reflection of my blankie!!! Ilu, ma cherie!!!

Review: Fancl Cleartune Oil Control Powder and Body Shop Nature's Minerals

Last Thursday, I went out and bought this!

It has great reviews on MUA, and I decided to try it out on my oil slick of a face.

There's nothing special about the packaging, very no-frills. I hate that there's only a clear plastic sheet separating the sponge and the powder, it's so troublesome and unhygienic - they should have put in a hinged separator. But as for the product itself, it's seriously amazing at oil-control, plus it contains sulfur which prevents breakouts! It's a pastel blue-green translucent shade, goes on kind of chalky on medium-fair skin, but blends in after about an hour. I only use it on the t-zone but I really love this - it's my total HG now! 10/10!

The marshmallow puff is soft but generic, nothing special, so I use a brush to put it on! (I think puffs are unhygienic, I feel like I have to wash it all the time so I prefer brushes. Plus brushes give a lighter finish while a puff would pile it on.)

The Body Shop Nature's Minerals kabuki! It's made of synthetic hair but so amazingly soft and fluffy, I really really like it a lot. Plus the handle is like glittery graphite, so pretty! It comes with its own case, good for travelling (that's why I bought it to use in hall). And I like the sparkly pink sifter jar (which I got with a $3.50 voucher my friend gave me, lol).

So these are 2 things that greatly increased my utility recently. I'm off to my irritating risk module now, ta!

BOO to school!

Gosh school has been hectic! I've been breaking out into hives for 2 consecutive weeks (better not let my mom hear this), getting migraines and feeling super faint. I think I'd better start taking my vitamins and iron and stuff. -_-"

It's good though, I've got pretty much all my books and I can feel karma flowing my way cos I've been helping other people - like I helped Aud sell her friend's text to my friend (whom I only knew for barely a semester) and cos she got it cheap, she helped me find 2 marketing books I needed and I got them for cheap as well! Yay!

And I lent a lot of people stuff, including my friend from French class whom I haven't seen in half a year. And things on the roommate front are getting better, I met her family on Monday (cos they were here on holiday), she offered to cook with me (I was experimenting with preserved veg and tofu soup this week - it was badddd) so I think I'd better brush up on my cooking skills. And I went with her to one of the exchange talks, I really hope I get to go with my miserable GPA - I hope I improved my chances by picking a safer and more boring place closer to home. -_-U

Anyway, back to my blatant consumerism. I am extremely in love with the drugstore, I go there all the time and every time I get something small and cheap that makes me happy. This time I rediscovered Pond's! (I used to love the smell of Pond's moisturiser even when I was young, I think my sister used it in her teens, as well as the younger teachers in my primary school - it smelt safe and warm!)
Ponds
Pond's White skin lightening facial foam, pore minimizing foam mask and oil control lightening facial foam. The pink one is moisturising but doesn't seem to wash off cleanly so I didn't like it. The blue one's ok and smells good, but doesn't stand out from all the stuff that I use. The orange is the interesting one - you can use it either to wash your face or as a mask! I prefer the mask method - it contains witch hazel and kaolin and gives this tingly sensation! It's not too drying, and has a creamy texture and is quite moisturising actually. That's why I got it in a bigger tube.

So I've moved back into hall and the water here is very very hard - after I shower, I feel so dry and itchy and my cheeks turn raw and flaky which is very bad. So I'll be dabbling in moisturisers next. Stay tuned...
